Project Complete!!! Final Blog Post

Work Performed:
·         Paving final layer of asphalt pavement
·         Pavement markings at Glenview Road
·         Sod Restoration
·         Completed final testing of underground utilities
·         Grading and restoration of detention area on south end of Raleigh Road.
·         General site clean-up and demobilization of equipment

Good News!!! The project is completed and this will be the final blog post for the project. We hope you found the information to be helpful and insightful regarding the current status of the project and upcoming work.

The Village of Glenview will provide surveys in the coming weeks for you to complete regarding the construction work and notifications provided. Please take a few moments to complete this survey. The information will allow us to know what aspects of the project we are doing well at and which areas we need to improve upon in the future.

Landscape Restoration On-Going. Asphalt Surface Paving Scheduled in 2 Weeks

Work Performed:
·         All concrete curb & gutter installed
·         First layer of asphalt pavement installed throughout neighborhood
·         All driveway restorations completed (Brick driveways are responsibility of homeowner)
·         Sod Restoration completed in southern portion of neighborhood
·         Manhole adjustments to final elevation of new asphalt surface
·         General site clean-up and demobilization of equipment          

Work Anticipated to be performed to complete project.
·         Complete landscape restoration with sod
·         Pave final surface layer of asphalt pavement
·         Final testing of underground utilities
·         Continue with general site clean-up
·         Perform miscellaneous tasks prior to asphalt surface
·         Pavement marking as needed

We apologize for the extended delay in providing a Blog Post for the project. Hopefully, the letters provided the Village have kept you informed of the work on-going for the past few weeks.

The work is coming to an end as the construction season is coming to a close. The contractor will continue to perform landscape restorations with sod.  The final layer of asphalt surface is scheduled for the 2nd or 3rd week of November. Additional information will be provided to the neighborhood once the dates are confirmed. We are working with the contractor to schedule the work to minimize the inconvenience to the residents. There will be lane closures and parking restrictions during the days of asphalt paving; therefore, a detailed letter will be provided regarding when they will be paving and where residents are able to park and roadways that will be closed during the paving operations.

Phase 2: 1st Layer of Asphalt Paving Completed. Phase 3: Concrete Curb & Gutter Begins

Work Performed, September 25th to September 29th   
·         Work performed along Raleigh Road from York Road to 200 feet north of Drake Road (Phase 2 of 4)
o   Fine grade roadway base
o   Pave first layer of asphalt pavement
o   Complete asphalt driveway restoration
o   Grading and installation of topsoil
o   Driveway access restored to resident
·         Work performed along Hudson Road, York Road, and Raleigh Road (south end to York Road) (Phase 1 of 4)
o   Installation and grading of topsoil
·         Concrete curb & gutter and sidewalk repairs along Glenview Road.
·         AT&T was on-site to continue working on the relocation of the existing underground utility lines.

Work Anticipated to be performed, October 2nd to October 6th  
·         Work to be performed along Drake Road and easterly half of Baffin Road to Drake Road (Phase 3 of 4):
o   Access to driveways restricted starting on Monday, October 2nd
o   Install string line for curb & gutter
o   Pour concrete curb & gutter (Scheduled for Wednesday, October 4th )
o   Rough grading of landscape areas
o   Fine Grading of Roadway
o   Pave first layer of asphalt pavement (Scheduled for Monday, October 9th)
o   Driveway restorations
o   Access to driveways restored (by Tuesday, October 10th)
·         Sod Restoration to begin week of October 9th in the following locations.
o   Phase 1 of 4: Hudson Road, York Road, Raleigh Road (south end to York Road)
o   Phase 2 of 4: Raleigh Road from York Road to 200 feet north of Drake Road
·         Continue miscellaneous underground utility relocations and adjustments for sanitary sewer, storm sewer, and water main.

A 2nd phase of curb & gutter and first layer of asphalt pavement is completed. The third of four phases will begin on Monday.  The 3rd Phase includes Drake Road from Raleigh Road to Glenview Road and the easterly half of Baffin Road to Drake Road. Residents within this phase should have your vehicles removed from driveways and garages by 7:00 AM on Monday, October 2nd.  All affected residents have received prior notification from the Village of Glenview with parking suggestions. We anticipate driveway access will be restored by Tuesday, October 10th.

Residents within Phase 1 and Phase 2 of the curb & gutter / paving improvements are asked to contact your irrigation and/or brick driveway contractor to have your private improvements repaired or replaced.  The contractor will begin sod restoration in all areas south of Drake Road (Phase 1 and Phase 2) on Monday, October 9th. It would be a benefit to all involved to have those repairs completed prior to sod installation.

Thanks again to all the residents along Phase 2 that were without driveway access as the concrete curb & gutter and asphalt pavement was installed. Also, thanks to all those residents south of Drake Road that did not have access while working between Drake Road and Hudson Road.

Phase II Curb and Gutter Completed. Paving Next Week.

Work Performed, September 18th to September 22nd  
·         Work to be performed along Raleigh Road from York Road to 200 feet north of Drake Road:
o   Prep work and grading prior to concrete curb & gutter installation
o   Poured concrete curb & gutter
o   Rough grade landscape behind curb & gutter

o   Restoration of concrete driveways
·         Work to be performed along Hudson Road, York Road, and Raleigh Road (south end to York Road):
o   Installation and grading of topsoil
·         Completed roadway excavation and installation of base course along Baffin Road.
o   All roadway excavation along entire project is now completed.
·         Continued miscellaneous underground utility relocations and adjustments for sanitary sewer, storm sewer, and water main.
·         Concrete curb & gutter and sidewalk repairs along Glenview Road.

Work Anticipated to be performed, September 25th to September 29th

The 2nd phase of concrete curb & gutter and asphalt pavement is on-going along Raleigh Road from York Road to approximately 200 feet north of Drake Road. Driveway access is anticipated to be restored by Friday, September 29th

Next week the contractor will be paving and fine grading along Raleigh Road between Hudson Road and Drake Road. Access south of Drake Road will be restricted during the following times:
·         Tuesday, September 26th from 7:00 AM to noon for fine grading
·         Wednesday, September 27th from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM for paving.

Residents affected by this restricted access will be notified via letter from the Village of Glenview regarding times and parking options.

Thanks again for all those residents along Phase II of the concrete curb & gutter construction / asphalt paving as they are without driveway access.

Installation of Curb and Gutter Next Week for Phase 2 (Raleigh Road from York Road to 200 ft North of Drake Road.

o   Grading aggregate base under curb & gutter
o   Pour concrete curb & gutter (Scheduled for Thursday, September 21st)

o   Restore asphalt driveways (1st Layer of asphalt)
o   Fine grade roadway base
o   Pave first layer of asphalt pavement (Scheduled for Thursday September 28th)
o   Driveway access restored to residents (Anticipate by Friday, September 29th)
·         Work to be performed along Hudson Road, York Road, and Raleigh Road (south end to York Road):
o   Continue rough grading and installation of topsoil behind curb & gutter
o   Complete asphalt driveway restorations.
o   Sod installation scheduled for early October once remaining curb & gutter is completed along Raleigh Road south of Drake Road.
·         Complete roadway excavation and installation of base course along Baffin Road
o   Anticipate all roadway excavation and installation of base course to be completed by the end of week for entire project.

The 1st phase of concrete curb & gutter and asphalt pavement installation has been completed.  This is a significant project milestone for that area because the amount of dust is greatly reduced and a smooth driving surface is provided.

The 2nd phase of concrete curb & gutter and asphalt pavement will begin next week along Raleigh Road from York Road to approximately 200 feet north of Drake Road. We request all residents in this area have their vehicles removed from their driveways and garages by Tuesday, September 19th at 7:00 AM. Access is anticipated to be restored by Friday, September 29th.  All residents affected have received prior notification from the Village of Glenview. At this time, residents are allowed to parking along York Road and Hudson Road where the asphalt pavement was previously installed.

During this 2nd Phase the contractor will be working extensively along Raleigh Road between Hudson Road and Drake Road. This area becomes difficult to travel along as construction operations are on-going.  We ask that you are patient as you travel through the area.  As in the past, we may request you park your vehicles along Drake Road if you need access during working hours. Additional information will be provided should this request be made.

Roadway excavation and base course installation has been completed along Raleigh Road.  The final roadway to be completed is Baffin Road. It is anticipated the remaining portion of Baffin Road will be completed by the end of next week.

Thanks again to the residents along Phase 1 as you dealt with the significant inconvenience of not having driveway access for approximately 2 weeks.  Thank you in advance for those residents along Phase 2 that will be without driveway access starting on Tuesday, September 19th. Due to the patience and understanding of all the residents, the project is moving along as quickly as possible.

Significant Work along Hudson, York, and Raleigh (South End to York) On-Going. Roadway Excavation Continues along Raleigh and Baffin.

Work Performed, September 5th to September 8th

o   Installation of string line for concrete curb & gutter

o   Asphalt driveway restorations (1st layer only)
o   Started fine Grading of roadway
o   Started rough grading of landscape behind the curb & gutter
·         Completed roadway excavation and installation of base course along Drake Road from Baffin Road to Glenview Road
·         Continued roadway excavation and installation of base course along Raleigh Road from Drake Road to Baffin Road

A significant amount of progress has been made along Hudson Road, York Road, and Raleigh Road (south end to York Road) this past week. We appreciate all the residents patience and understanding as access to their driveways has been restricted for the past week. If all goes as planned, access will be restored by Friday, September 15th.  Next week a major milestone will be accomplished on this section of the roadway, paving the first layer of asphalt pavement. Once this work is performed, the amount of dust will be greatly reduced, a smooth driving surface will be provided, and access to driveways will be restored.

Roadway excavation will continue along Raleigh Road and Drake Road. Depending on work progress, all roadway excavation might be completed by the end of next week throughout the neighborhood.

During the week of September 18th, the 2nd stage of concrete curb & gutter, grading, and asphalt pavement will begin along Raleigh Road and Drake Road. The residents along those roadways will be without access to their driveways for approximately 2 weeks. Exact limits of work to be performed is being coordinated. Residents will be notified next week regarding location and timeframe for driveway restrictions as well as parking instructions.

Curb & Gutter on York, Hudson, and south end of Raleigh. Major Storm Sewer Improvements Completed. Roadway Excavation Continues on Drake and Baffin

Starting on Tuesday, September 5th, the contractor will begin concrete curb & gutter installation along Hudson Road, York Road, and Raleigh Road (South end to York Road). During this time, driveway access will be restricted for approximately 10 days while the concrete curb & gutter is poured, the concrete is allowed proper time to cure, the roadway is graded, driveways are restored, and the first layers of asphalt pavement are paved. See the anticipated work to be performed and schedule above.  Please have all vehicles removed from your driveways and garages by Tuesday, September 5th at 7:00 AM.  Once the concrete curb & gutter is poured, you will be able to park in front of your home after working hours (5:00 PM to 7:00AM) if you need closer access to deliver groceries or other items.  Please ensure to have your vehicles removed from the roadway prior to 7:00 AM. Daytime and overnight parking is available along Raleigh Road on the east side of the street or any other streets within the neighborhood. It is anticipated driveway access will be restored by Friday, September 15th.
