Storm Sewer and Sanitary Sewer Improvements to Continue

Work Completed, May 22^nd to May 26^th

Work Anticipated to be completed, May 30^th to June 2^nd

As you are aware, Nicor Gas has been installing a new gas main along Glenview Road for the past few weeks.  Nicor will also be installing new gas main within the entire neighborhood and new gas service to each home. The work will be performed in conjunction with the Village project, but the Village project will take priority regarding scheduling and completion dates. It is anticipated Nicor will begin working on the south end of the neighborhood, along Raleigh Road near York Road, later next week. You should expect, or have previously received, correspondence from Nicor regarding the work to be performed and contact information should you have any concerns with their portion of the work.

Underground Utility Improvements Continue

Work Completed, May 15^th to May 19^th

·         Water main connection at the intersection of Glenview Road and Drake Road

·         Asphalt patching of Glenview Road where excavations were made

Water Connections along Glenview Road This Week. Expect Travel Delays

Work Completed, May 1^st to May 5^th   

·         Grind-in-place the existing roadway on the north end of the project.

·         Mobilization of equipment and materials

·         Construction of temporary construction staging area on south end of the project

·         Sewer televising of existing storm and sanitary sewers

·         Tree removal as required

·         Saw-cutting of existing pavement in Glenview Road

Work Anticipated to be completed, May 8^th to May 12^th

·         Make connection to existing water main at the intersection of Glenview Road and Raleigh Road (Monday & Tuesday)

·         Make connection to existing water main at the intersection of Glenview Road and Drake Road (Wednesday & Thursday)

·         Asphalt patching of Glenview Road along water main trench.

The major construction activities are beginning. The contractor will make the connections to the existing water main along Glenview Road at Raleigh Road and Drake Road. During construction, driving along Glenview Road will be difficult and you are encouraged to use alternate routes.  The contractor will control traffic with flaggers and Glenview Road will always have one-lane open.

The contractor is performing both connections along Glenview Road this week to avoid conflicts and reduce congestion when the intersection improvements begin at Glenview Road and Waukegan Road the week of May 15^th.

Minor Construction Work to Begin this Week

Work Anticipated to be completed, May 1^st to May 5^th  

·         Grind-in-place the existing roadway on the north end of the project

·         Continue with material deliveries

·         Finalize staging area on south end of the project

·         Mobilization of equipment

Thanks to all of you that attending the Resident Preconstruction Meeting last Monday evening. We hope that you found it informative and well worth your time.

Next week, the contractor will begin mobilization of equipment and work in preparation for heavy underground utility construction starting the week of May 8^th. The contractor will grind-in-place the existing roadway along Raleigh Road from Hudson Road to Glenview Road, Drake Road from Raleigh Road to Glenview Road, and Baffin Road from Drake Road to Raleigh Road.  The grind-in-place work is anticipated to take 1-day and you will be able to drive on it soon after it is completed. However, during the construction, the section of roadway being worked on will be difficult to drive on and use of an alternative route is suggested.

As the week continues, you will see periods of construction activity with the major work starting on Monday, May 8^th.
